Default Ethernet LAN kill USB wireless keybaord & mouse

Subject says it all.....plug in ethernet and keyb/mouse stops working (ie
movement on mouse so slooooow it's unusable, keyb is intermittent at best),
unplug CAT5 and, pow, normal service resumed....
Vusta Ultimate SP2, HP Compaq V6000 notebook, internal Intel Pro 100 NIC,
standard Logitech wireless keyb & mouse setup.

Also noticing similar issue on HP NC8430 laptop, BroadComm NetXtreme GB NIC,
different Logitech USB wireless keyb/mouse combo. System also Vista Ultimate
at SP2...

Seem to recall seeing an article about a similar issue a while ago but can't
find anything online... Anyone got any ideas?

Many thanks
