I posted a question regarding my c drive running on 50% fragmentation. After running the in house program and several alternative programs like defraggler and auslogics ( I'm not going to pay for one of these ) the drive sill is 50% fragmented. I have had several folks kind enough to post their own comments about how to defrag, what is the best program for defrag and many other pieces of input but no one has yet to answer the question that I am asking which "is this normal for Vista to run all the time at 50% fragmented?" -- bbqbrisket |

I've been using Auslogic defragger and it works great. 0% fragmentation after a single pass. I have switched over to PCTOOLS Disk Suite and it also has 0% after a single pass. I do lots of video editing so I run defrag at least once a session. Where is the 50% report coming from? Auslogic or Vista? Vista can not be trusted on it's defrag report. -- Battman540 |

From your statement, it sounds like this is not normal. Check out the 2 links below that I uploaded which are images of my screen after the auslogics defrag. As you can see the report from Auslogics shows there was 43% fragmentation before and after the program ran. http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/7...fragreport.jpg http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/1328/ausdefrag.jpg -- bbqbrisket |
