Default Having boot issues

I'll go through this as thoroughly as possible.

My Kaspersky AV wasn't running properly and I suspected a virus or
trojan. I attempted to repair my AV and when that didn't work tried to
uninstall and then reinstall. When this failed I figured I would have to
do all my fixes in safe mode. I opened msconfig and was disappointed to
find that I could not select anything on the boot tab. I restarted the
computer and used the F8 approach. I started the PC in safe mode w/
networking and tried the uninstall again only to get an error saying
that the installer was not available in safe mode. I downloaded a log
software which disconnected me from the internet. When it finished the
network connection was not reestablished. I attempted to use msconfig
but for some reason the boot tab was unselectable.

*To be clear I could select the tab itself but everything in that tab
alone was completely unselectable.

I used the F8 method again and tried to start in normal but it still
starts me in safe mode without networking. Now I am on a different
computer. Any suggestions on how to fix this because I've all but given
up.

Well I don't know what the problem was but I have found my own solution.
I am running Windows 7 RC now without a problem. So thank you. This
could be closed now.
