I need a USB Guru...

Hi. I’ve 2 mobo USB input on front of my desktop and others on a PCI USB
Controller. If I connect my usb keyboard to mobo USB input the
keyboard is avilable before boot, too. Is there a way to get the same
result connecting the usb keyboard to USB PCI Controller ? (by tools,
bios settings, other…)
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200
Thank you and Good afternoon

Not likely. Did you have to install drivers for the add in card? Did Vista
find it automatically and install drivers? If so, those drivers are not
available when the computer begins the boot process and anything attached to
the USB ports on that card will only be available when once Vista has
finished booting.

If it doesn't work on your computer then there is no way to force it to
work. Most PCI cards won't work without drivers, and the ones that do are
usually not initialized until later in the boot.

I agree with what the others have said, .. it's not likely to work.
That said, I assume your computer has a regular keyboard socket on the
back, you can use a USB/keyboard socket adapter and just plug it in to
that socket and it will probably work. Plus you'll free up a USB port
for something that needs a usb port.

Check to see if there is a Legacy Bios Setting. My USB
keyboard works.

Legacy bios settings have no affect upon devices connected to a PCI USB
adapter card.

If you reread the original post the person has the device attached to a PCI
adapter card. The bios has nothing to do with that card. Sop why even
mention the bios?

If you reread the post he says he has two on the front of his desktop
and others on a USB PCI Card. Maybe I did misread it, however
I took it as 2 on the motherboard and others from the card. Maybe
he meant all were from the card. If his BIOS has Legacy settings then
it is likely he has USB support other than from the PCI card.
