Hey. Just recently got my new computer. It runs Windows Vista Basic 64-Bit. 4 GB RAM. Intel Core 2 Quad q8400 @ 2.66 ghz. NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT video card. I recently install a game onto my computer. Installation was completed smoothly, but without fail, I get a blue screen of death in the middle of a patch download. The info is as follows. BCCode: a BCP1: 0000000000000008 BCP2: 0000000000000002 BCP3: 0000000000000000 BCP4: FFFFF800022091CA OS Version: 6_0_6001 Service Pack: 1_0 Product: 768_1 Is there anyone out there with a blue screen dictionary who can help me resolve this irritation? I would be most grateful. -- Jadagar |

Oh. And I've already run a registry cleaner numerous times. That may well be the source of your problem. Having used a registry "reamer," the only way to fix things will most likely be to format the partition and reinstall the OS from scratch, as Vista lacks the repair capability of earlier operating systems. -- Bruce Chambers Help us help you: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/555375 They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. ~Benjamin Franklin Many people would rather die than think; in fact, most do. ~Bertrand Russell The philosopher has never killed any priests, whereas the priest has killed a great many philosophers. ~ Denis Diderot |

Hello Jadagar,
The only real way to clean the registry is to reinstall the OS. http://www.whatthetech.com/2007/11/25/do-i-need-a-registry-cleaner/ http://www.edbott.com/weblog/archives/000643.html Ǝиçεl -=- "Jadagar" wrote: Oh. And I've already run a registry cleaner numerous times. -- Jadagar |

Hi Jadagar -
The bugcheck = 0xa (0x8, 0x2, 0x0, 0x800022091ca), no probable cause listed. 0xa = IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL = a driver tried to access paged memory when it should not have (IRQL too high). The patch is the obvious problem as the x64 kernel can't be patched by anyone except Windows Updates. Does the patch involve kernel mode drivers? I suggest that you perform a Vista System Restore and choose a restore point prior to the installation of the patch. START | rstrui I would think the patch is sitting in your user profile virtual store right now if it tried to modify \Program Files or \Windows\system32 or \syswow64 if the patch was for an x86 app jcgriff2 ..
