Why hibernate if not in power settings?
I have told Vista not to go into hibernation at all, in my power settings.
In the Sleep option, I have hybrid sleep turned off (for both options), and under Hibernate, I have never for both battery and charging. But after several hours of inactivity, the computer will go into hibernation (the sleep mode is suposed to turn on after 30 mins of inactivity--and it does--normally it goes in and out of sleep mode without a problem). Is there any other section that I can check, that will turn my computer from sleep into hibernation? I"d rather it stayed in sleep mode. -- Paul Vista Home Basic Office 2007

Hello Paul, Using the method in the tutorial below to disable hibernation by deleting the "Hibernation File Cleaner" option in Disk Cleanup should stop your computer from going into hibernation. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/16...e-disable.html You might also check to see if you may have the Power Plan Options set to hibernate for what to do when the battery gets low. OK Shawn I did that. Up till this point I'm not sure its had the opportunity

Hibernation and hybrid sleep settings will not be available.
