hey i want to put linux on my computer as a stepping stone leading towards my career and want to dual boot vista with linux unfortuneately i got 3 partitions in total. 1 that has EISA Configuration and an unknown 4.73GB (Healthy) partition, that i am unsure of what purpose it has because it has no info on it. I want to get rid of it so i have more space for linux thanks -- caseyckc |

It is most likely the factory restore or diagnostic partition set up by the
computer manufacturer. It is generally best to leave this in place. -- Kerry Brown MS-MVP - Windows Desktop Experience: Systems Administration http://www.vistahelp.ca/phpBB2/ "caseyckc" wrote in message ... hey i want to put linux on my computer as a stepping stone leading towards my career and want to dual boot vista with linux unfortuneately i got 3 partitions in total. 1 that has EISA Configuration and an unknown 4.73GB (Healthy) partition, that i am unsure of what purpose it has because it has no info on it. Yes I agree with Kerry and Rick. I have a laptop with an EISA partition
which is for system restore to factory default. If you don't have a Operating System Disc with you, that would be the only source for you to get back to business quickly. If you remove it, you will be able to restore it later in the manufacture's but they will likely charge you for that.
