Hi, After uninstall CA and install McAfee My laptop cannot launch internet explorer 8, So uninstall McAfee (it's a crappy program anyways). It's very clearly causing the problem. Either that or refer to McAfee support for assistance in resolving this problem their software created (and it won't be the first one, trust me). PA Bear seemed to think that installing IE8 with an AV running might cause a number of problems, and since IE8 is kinda "Foisted" by WUpdate it's quite likely many people just say "Okay". I would suggest uninstall all both the AV and IE8 , reboot a couple of times to let the uninstallers complete and then try IE8 first before adding whatever AV. |

Thanks
I uninstall both the AV and IE8 , reboot a couple of times to let the uninstallers complete. I find I can launch browser ( old version of internet explorer) then. But after re-install IE8, problems is back. I could launch IE8 only with click 'run as administrator'. Also I could launch Windows Mail only with click 'run as administrator'. And also if I check 'Control Panel' -- 'Internet Option' I find the home page is set to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157 No matter how I type in the home pages, when I check the 'Internet Option' the home page keep back to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157 again. any help Thanks and then try IE8 first "Charlie Tame" wrote in message ...
