Default Network & volume icons missing

Vista Home Premium SP1 32 bit
Network and volume icons disappear from notification area.
I did right click on Start button Properties Notification. Both boxes
are grayed out.

Hello t-4-2,

Sometimes a simple restart will restore them. If not, then this may be
able to help restore them instead.
