Default Linksys WRT54G with Vista

I am using a Linksys WRT54G v6 with 1.01.1 firmware.

I have a Dell desktop with XP plugged into the linksys and a HP laptop
running Vista. When the laptop comes out of sleep mode, it will connect to
the wireless network but cannot access anything. It will also stop the Dell
desktop from accessing the internet. The only fix is to unplug/plug in the
Linksys router. Once this is done everything works until the laptop goes into
sleep mode again. Unplugging the router 2-3 times a day is getting old. Any
help is greatly appreciated.

Where do your systems get their IP addresses? Is is possible the HP
lures the Dell into forming an "ad-hoc" network with "Automatic
Private Addresses" (169.254...) when it wakes up? So they can see each
other but not the internet? And power cycling the router causes both
machines to see a new network connection and request new DHCP
addresses that do see the internet? Check the network connection
"status" on both machines in each state.
