Default Keep Having to Merge Networks.

Hi all.... I have the following Asus DSL-n13 wireless router (formerly a
Dlink -had same problem)
2 Laptops machines running Vista Business (wireless)
1 desk running Vista Ultimate (wired)
1 Laptop running Vista HOME premium (Wireless)
1 desktop running XP (old box) (Wireless)
Playstation, xbox 360 and Wii all acting as media clients (wireless)

Network is WPA and named HomeBase and is private netwrok

The problem that I have is getting connectivity to the main file storage box
(Vista Ultimate), my partner (sales rep) uses her (Vista Home - i know i want
her to upgrade it) on the road so she is constantly leaving and entering the
network. Each time she re-enters she get a network named HomeBase 2 and it is
public.... being public the printers, and file sharing box (vista ultimate)
are no longer visible and the only way i can fix it is to go in and merge her
HomeBase 2 with the HomeBase network.

On occassion the pther laptops also display this Homebase 2 as the network
but it is often private... this happened both on the new and old routers so i
am convinced it is a microsoft vista problem....

can anyone explain why this is happening? Is this a case that one of the
boxes is broadcasting another network name or settings? It is frustrating
each time having to merge just so she can get file access.

Hi
Get rid of the connection if it it saved in the Mange Wireless Connection
Menu.
Establish a new connection and make sure that the Network selection is
correct.
If it does not load to the computer Connection management application like
this.
http://www.mobilenetswitch.com/
Configure in the variety of connection that are needed.
