I have a very interesting problem about Windows Vista Home Premium. Every time i running Civilization4 or any of its expansion a crash happen that i have never seen before. After a few minutes playing the screen becomes darker and the whole laptop switch off (all of this is just a second or less). There is no error, no problem with anything else, just this. The game has no other problem (it is patched up), it works fine (and has no problem on an other laptop with xp). I have a new Acer Aspire 5738G (intel core2 duo t6400,nvidia geforce g105m,4gb ram, windows vista home premium). Vista say that all the drivers are up to date. Directx 9c is already installed. I have read a lot about civilization's problems on vista (on this and other forums), but i didn't found anything like this. Playing with compatibility and admin rights don't help neither changing the graphic options. I searched for viruses too (with mcafee). I have no more idea what can i do, please help me. -- Ede ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ede's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/115543.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-v...es/1215680.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

i have never heard of this problem, but i have experienced similar problems with other games, this was caused by overheating, you might want to install speedfan or another heat detection software and check if your temperature is out of control. -- superblah |
