the issue is not likely to
be with your computer, but with the wireless router or the modem or their connections. you should have a cross over cable connected between the router and the modem. go to the router's home site and see what the faq's are for the issue you are experiencing. there is however a way to test the connectivity. but you would have to use physical ethernet cables to test your equipment. firstly, you can test the modem by plugging it into your wall and directly to the computer using a regular ethernet cable and "not" the special cross over cable. if the above does not work, then you have narrowed down the problem to either a problem with your modem or with your computer. but if the above does work and your computer and modem are communicating, then you have eliminated the modem and your pc as the problem. the next test is to connect the modem to the router with the cross over cable and then the router to the computer with a standard ethernet cable. both the router and your pc should have ethernet ports to plug these types of cables into them. if you do get a stable connection with your equipment being hard wired, then you have narrowed down the problem. -- db·´¯`·...¸)))º DatabaseBen, Retired Professional - Systems Analyst - Database Developer - Accountancy - Veteran of the Armed Forces - Microsoft Partner - @hotmail.com ~~~~~~~~~~"share the nirvana" - dbZen "Ibrahim" wrote in message ...
