pls i need somebody's help. i am new to this forum but i have problem with my system bootup. my system takes too long to boot and it started 3days ago. it takes about 120secs at bootscreen alone. i believe it is not my start up programs as it takes about 3 secs to start up from login page. i donot use any third party bootscreen. normally, my system boots in 30 secs but now i am facing a lot of problem which i do not understand. i have tried all the tutorials in this forum relating to bootup problems but found no luck. i hope somebody help me soon. Plssssssssssssssss system specs: toshiba, l300 hdd: 120g ram: 1g processor: 2 core (1.73gighz each) -- jokesy |

thanks bill for the quickreply. unfortunately i couldnot find a restore point for that day when i checked it. i guess it was because i installed many softwares during those days and also i have already used a tweak method to reduce the size of harddisk that system restore consumes. pls how can u help me. thanks -- jokesy |

Hi jokesy, You could try this: 'How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista' (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135) I would try step 4. siw2, i have performed all the steps but no luck, i even used diagnostic start up and even safe mode but all did not work. now, i beginning to attribute the problem to windows update. i could remember i performed windows update about 3-5 days ago and maybe because i don't shutdown always, i did not notice the problem. pls i still need your help. thanks -- jokesy |
