Hi My PC is a Aspire iDea 510 with a Intel Core(TM)2 CPU T5500. 1 GB RAM. I'm running a 32-bit version of Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1 I normally leave my computer 'on' after finishing working, and after 15 minuttes it goes into 'sleeping mode'. During the night the computer automatically wakes up to search for software updates. If any update (normally Windows-updates) forces the computer to restart it often (not always !) apparently does a normal 'shut down' but immediately after freezes - before I am allowed acces to the BIOS and Windows begins loading. I have to 'kill' the computer by pressing/holding the on/off button on the front, and reboot manually in order to get in contact with the computer again. By doing this everything seems to work fine Anybody with a hint ? Rgs Peter -- PeterPhilipp Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

Turn that off and let Windows Update tell you when updates are available - normally only happens once a month on the second Tuesday (IIRC). Manuall put your computer to sleep and forget about it until you want to manually wake it. Works for me here. |
