Default Vista Startup Disaster

A couple days ago I turned off my computer normally. I have Vista Home
Premium 32 bit. The next time I turn it on the login screen is blank.
There is no visuals or sounds only the mouse which i can freely move. So
I turn it off again and disconnect everything and just let it sit for a
while (no idea why I thought that would help). The next time I turn it
on I can reach the login screen but when I put in my password it
immeadiately flashed a BSOD that I cannot read and my comp shut down. I
try again and this time I log in but vista doesn't start normally it
goes to a black screen with some writing in the bottom right corner,
something about the version of windows, then it restarts.

Now everytime I start my computer it goes to startup repair but it
cannot be fixed automatically. I cannot do a system restore because it
says there are no restore points even though i make an effort to have at
least 3. I have no idea where to go from here. I just bought the
computer in february and i find it a bit rediculous that this has
occured.

Also is there any solution besides reinstalling? I have not backed up
my data because again i bought the computer relatively recently and did
not expect this at all

Sorry for the long read and thank you in advance

If you access the BIOS Settings you can set it to HALT ON ALL ERRORS,
this will then stop at the BSOD and you can write down all the relevant
details.

As it is still under warranty, why not take it back to the shop?

Can you start in Safe Mode? You maybe able to get your data then.

And WHY OH WHY were you not backing up from day 1?? You play a lot of
Russian roulette by chance?

Sounds very similar to a problem I had recently. Resulted in having to
have new motherboard fitted. Unfortunately, I had attempted to do a
restore which failed, resulting in loss of my data.

I had same issue and ended up being the Nvida Graphics card. Swapped out
with new card and all now working.
