Default Websites won't load

I have installed Vista ultimate and can't get a lot of websites to load.

I am a member of a domain, and can access the server on the domain. google,
msn, and java.com load. I click to download the latest java and nothing
downloads. I can't get to www.nvidia.com or www.abit-usa.com the page name
loads at the top, and the correct url loads. But the page just doesn't load
or times out. I can go to google and search fine.

I've tried flushing the dns, which didn't solve the problem

IP address and DNS numbers are correct.

IE Security is set to default, which has always worked in the past. Phishing
filter is off.

any ideas?
