Default 'OPSnnnn.tmp' Files (1,600+) 0 kb Size In Local\Temp--What & Why?

Vista 64-bit... I have to start somewhere though this isn't likely a Vista
concern. I recently changed wireless routers from Netgear to Linksys,
uninstalled and reinstalled Open Office Writer, and made some other various
adjustments. Unfortunately I've discovered in 'name'\AppData\Local\Temp
over 1,600 (and counting) 0 kb files named 'OPSnnnn.tmp', where 'nnnn'
appears to be an incrementing hexadecimal number. All Google and M$
attempts fail so far to learn anything of these files. Disk Cleanup didn't
touch them. I can easily manually delete them but over a couple days time
or unknown reason they reappear. Can anyone point me in any direction about
this? Thank you.

I have confirmed that these files are produced by Linksys's Network Magic
router program. I've removed the software and the files no longer
appear--no more 1,500+ files. What luck.
