Default How do I get my info back after I backup?

My vista 32 stopped booting up. So I got the recovery disks out and
started to do a recovery. First it asked if I wanted to back up, so I
did. then it would not do the recovery. So I started it again. It did
the backup and the recovery worked great the next time through. Now I
want to get some the of the stuff back that I backed up. How do I do
that? Any and all will be welcome. Thanks very much..

I am yet to have a recovery program ask me if I want it to back up my data.
When it asked you, it more than likely assumed you were backing it all up
before proceeding. Did it list a location, or ask you for a location to back
up your data? If the answer is No, you now have a clean system, just like
from the factory. Sorry. . .

it asked me for a location. I have a secondary drive "E" and it put it
there. I restored the info but still can not access it. Mainly what I
need is all the pictures and bookmarks. I tried to use a restore point
but it was not able to find one to use, that is why I used the recovery
disks.

Are you getting any error messages when trying to open one of the pictures?
If you backed up your application data, the application itself will have to
be reinstalled before you will be able to access it. For example, if you
have .mdb files, you'll need to reinstall Access before you can open them.
If you are getting permissions errors opening the files, you need to take
ownership of the folder(s) on the E: drive.
