My laptop took a mean spill and lost it's LCD screen. I repaired the screen and it began to give me errors. At the moment it's missing a "system32\config\system". I found my Vista recovery disk, it loads the files and shows me a Microsoft loading bar. It passes the bar and stops at a black screen with the arrow cursor on it. Is this supposed to happen? How long do it take for the disk to show me the recovery options? -- Shadoweb |

How long do it take for the disk to show me the recovery options? More than just your LCD screen was damaged. Whether it is the motherboard, the hard drive, the optical drive or a combination of components is impossible to say without physically examining the laptop. Either contact the laptop mftr.'s tech support for repair/replacement or take it to a competent local computer tech. This will not be someone from a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place.
