Default Possible lead on frequent explorer crash issue

Hello,

I, like many other vista users, have been recently experiencing
explorer.exe crashes. I've done research and its everywhere, even on
this forum, but there doesn't seem to be a full definite answer as to
why explorer.exe crashes intermittently or when running control panel.
Well I was browsing through proc monitor and I decided to search
"unsecapp.exe" the program that associates with the WMI callback, and
under dependencies it listed all the .dll's shown in my appcompat.txt
file I was looking at for the crash of explorer. And if memory serves me
right, I've been ending that process on boot up manually (I didn't see a
reason for it to be running), it seems everytime I do that explorer.exe
ends itself and restarts. So my proposed theory is that maybe somehow,
unsecapp.exe is causing the problem. It's very odd that a problem like
that can affect so many machines in almost -exactly- the same manner.
Hopefully this adds another link to our mission of solving this,
mystery.

You're a moron.

it seems everytime I do that explorer.exe ends itself and restarts.

That's a clue that you shouldn't be doing that.

unsecapp.exe has been running on my system forever... no explorer
crashes.

It runs on EVERYBODY'S computer.

Collaborating on my previous post, I ran ShellExtView and I found a few
Glary Utilities Shell exts, which I believe for file encryption with
that programs' encryption. I disabled that with a few others, mainly
spyware and optimization applications. I'm trying to find a logical
solution as to why this is affecting such a broad range of machines.

It takes more than one to "collaborate" ;-)

Perhaps you meant "elaborating"?

Update:

Now when I open my desktop folder "tools" and right click in any blank
area, it ends explorer. So somewhere I have a bed Shellext causing
compatibility issues... Back to work. lol :geek:
