Computer back-up fails because of 0x80070005
For the past few days, every time I try to back up my computer to an external
hard drive, I get error message 0x80070005 - access denied. This never happened before. Does anyone know what I should do? I use Windows Vista Home Premium, SP2, on an HP Pavillion with 3 GB of RAM. I recently installed an updated version of Mozilla Firefox. My security software includes Windows Defender, AVG Free 8.5, and Comodo Internet Security.

Try resetting the security settings back to the defaults as per How to reset security settings back to the defaults http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313222 If resetting the security settings did not resolve the Perm issue than look to the installed security software as being the cause.
