I am using a Vista 64-bit platform on a desktop. Recently, when I
right-click on the icon to Remove Hardware Safely in order to remove an external flash drive, it tells me that the device can be safely removed from the computer, but then the computer immediately goes into a reboot mode. In the Event Viewer under Custom Views/Administrative Events, I show an Http event (Event ID = 15016), and WMI error (Event ID = 10). This just started happening today. Gordon Biggar Houston, Texas |

Sir Steve --
Refer to my later post concerning the KB973879 Update. This solved my USB problem. However, it may pertain to 64- bit systems only. Check your Windows Update history.
