Default defective HDD?

hi,

I have a problem with my hard drive. recently my boot up time has been
slower than normal. So this is what i did:
a) press "esc" at startup and enter test mode.
b) did a "boot up test" both memory and hard drive were tested. memory
passed the test while hard drive stoped at 30% with this message as
follows:
#10008 - replace hard disk 1
1720 - S.M.A.R.T. Hard drive detects imminent failure.

After that i did another test in the system Bios on the hard drive
which took over 1 hour. and at the end it said "test passed"

i dont know what i should do. here are my specs.
HP pavilion entertainment PC DV4-1220us
AMD Turion X2 @2.1ghz
4gb ddr2 ram
ATI radeon HD3200
250 GB SATA hard drive @5400 rpm.

Download and run the disk manufacturer's diagnostic utility. This will
give a better indication than the Windows tests.

You can also check on its manufacturer's site to see if your disk has
any remaining warranty.
