Default my network places kills my computer

Hi,

I have windows vista home premium. And i tried setting up a home
network, which worked fine, i can see all shared folders on my network

and i can access the said computer from another computer with no
problem.

However, whenever i try to open any folder on the network , even if its
my own (from said computer) i get blue screen, windows reboots, windows
says it found a problem it cant fix, and everything else seems to be
working fine.
It happens with ANY folder on the network location, regardless if it
has anything in it.

I scanned the computer for viruses, according to my kaspersky its
clean

It used to work in the past, i used to be able to access network
folders with no problem.

How do i fix this ?

When you are accessing Network Places, this obviously will involve your
network card. What is the make and model of your pc (be specific)?
Take care!

'Satellite A100-786 - Product Specifications - Toshiba'

Does NOT have a 32-bit Vista lan driver. This could be the issue.
Would you look in your device manager and see what specific name there
is for the LAN?

Also, do you have a wireless device? If so, please provide specific
name.

Default my network places kills my computer

Hi
If the same happens when you try to open a folder on the same computer (not
through the Network), then it is Not a problem with the Network, it is a
trouble with Windows Explorer. Usually this occurs due to conflicts between
actively working applications.
This thread describes a process to try finding the cause,

Lemur: LenaBru won't be able to access the network or a folder on the
network at all if she didn't have any network driver installed. LenuBru did
say she (I'm assuming from the name) was using a wireless network
connection. The wireless network adapter is listed on the product spec sheet
at the link she thoughtfully included in her message.

Jack: LenaBru did say opening any folder on the network, even on her own
PC. It doesn't eliminate Explorer completely as a suspect, though.

The spec sheet shows the laptop is using a Intel PRO/Wireless 3945A/B/G.
(Good thinking to provide a link to the spec sheet!)

So, just to eliminate a possibility however remote, I recommend try
upgrading the network driver.
