Default side-by-side configuration is incorrect vista 64bit for all programs!

So I was just minding my own business, recording guitar like I usually
do on Toshiba Satellite U405 laptop when it restarted. When it came up
all i get for every program is this side-by-side error message. I can't
even get on the internet (not even Explorer will connect). Luckily I
have this XP desktop lying around!

Of course I immediately googled and found the install fix (C++
redistributable 2005) only to find that after I unzipped the installer
and click it, i get an error 1719 - The windows installer service could
not be accessed. I tried installing a new installer and get the
side-by-side error.

I feel like I'm stuck, and will have to go out and buy a TB external HD
and drag everything to that and reinstall windows from scratch =\

HELP ME! My brother who has minor knowledge will not, and beyond
talking the talk, I have no walk =\

Thanks!
-Ashton
