How do I capture audio from the internet - through speakers? I click on my "SOund recorder" but nothing is recorded from You Tube. I assume there are some adjustments I need to make somewhere? Thanks for the help. |

I assume there are some adjustments I need to make somewhere? Thanks for the help. First, you need a way to download video from YouTube. Second, you need a utility to convert FLV and MP4 to MP3. I use Firefox 3.5.3 and addon FlashGot to download video from YouTube. You pick a video and start playing to get a link. Right-click on a empty spot on the webpage to bring up the context menu and look for parenthesis around a number next to FlashGot. The number indicates the number of video links it caught. Once you download the video use a video to MP3 audio converter to rip the audio from the video format. YouTube uses FLV (Flash Video) and MP4 video formats. |

I don't want to download video, I just want to capture the audio portion using "Sound Recorder" in Vista Home Premium. Tae Song wrote: "Wolverine in Michigan" wrote in message ... You might want to get a stereo speaker wire with the mini plugs and connect the speaker out to mic in. I don't think the Sound Recorder provides any other options. But you're going to loose some audio quality and you have to adjust and re-adjust the volume to get optimal audio level. Which means plugging and unplugging the audio and speaker cables repeatedly. Given the parameters of your request, that's about the best solution I can provide. Deviate from your request a little bit, you might search for audio recording software with options to select audio source. You might run across something that might allow for recording wave out directly from the app like a web browser. I'm sure it can be done, but I can't say I've ever come across anything like that in all my computer experience. Not that I've ever tried looking for one. There's no real difference between watching and downloading the video. It still has to be sent to your computer. If you download it, it's easier to locate and work with. Watching it, it buffers the video in the internet cache somewhere with a randomly generated name. |
