i will try to connect windos 2003 (not r2) and vista...but i cant get them to
communicate..i have a dlink 604 router..i tried to connect 2 windows 2003..and it worked well..but when i try vista..nothing happens can anyone tell me that protocolls i need..and DONT need installed..and to set things up..i have looked in the guides..but i cant figure things out, i have looked al over and tried things please tell that protocolls and settings that i can try..just to make them connect |

Default should be fine (TCP/IP, etc,). They have to be on the same
subnet, as well. What kind of errors are you getting? Can you ping the server from Vista or ping Vista from the server? no i cant ping them..i dont know what is stopping the ping..i have tried to

Do they have the same subnet and subnet mask? Are they on DHCP?
