HP 6200 disappears from Vista
I've been experiencing a very annoying problem with an HP 6200 series. The printer is connected via a USB HUB to my VISTA PC. Regularly I have to connect this printer direct to another PC, which cannot be networked with the VISTA PC. Now here's the weird part: Sometimes (most of the time) the printer will disappear from the Vista PC, but not always. When it does disappear, it re-installs when I re-connect it to the USB HUB. Via the VISTA PC, this printer is also shared in my private network to an XP PC. The annoying part is that by disappearing from the VISTA PC, also the shared printer disappears and I have to manually share the printer every time it re-installs. Question is quite simple, but I haven't been able to figure out a solution: How can I prevent this printer from disappearing from Vista when I disconnect it from the USB HUB? -- TommieVtwin |

HP 6200 disappears from Vista
HP has an application that delete the printer when it's not attached. I
forgot the application HP Que Discovery or something similar. Disable the service if you do not wish to have HP delete the device. -- Alan Morris Windows Printing Team Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base he http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1 This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
