MS has not created one. Consequently, this has become the default
group.

Err no it's not....

Says who?

People will vote with their feet...

So where are the masses of Windows 7 posts here then?

Type 'Windows 7' into your top right search box. I can see hundreds.

To answer my own question,
With NNTP bridge running, "Add newsgroup account" and answer the questions.
NNTP server is 127.0.0.1

After you install the NNTP bridge and get it working, how do you bring
the forums into Windows Live Mail? I tried creating a Newsgroup
"Microsoft Forums" but that didn't work.

Hey Uncle Gus Microsoft isn't going to create a newsgroup...they have
them all on forums. they have a bridge that will bring them into Windows
Mail. then after you instal that you sign on to the forums using you
Windows live Id and go to settings and enable the bridge...the only thing
I don't like about it it has to be started each time you want to go into
that group.

Hi

As my daughters said "You would like the movie Dumber & Dumber".
Think they might be right as I can see no Windows 7 news groups.

Can someone please show me the way?

Keep smiling

Uncle Gus

And most are asking where the Windows 7 newsgroups are - NOT technical
questions about Windows 7.

Just be warned its beta software so it is quite buggy. The biggest
problem I have with it is that it will start mismatching headers with
messages so the header will be one thing but when you click on it, its a
totally different message and subject and not what was in the header.
I've had to remove the group in question from my newsgroup software,
delete any files associate, then resub.

Also, those forums are filled with a TON of stupid, repetitive
questions. I've lost count of how many times I've seen people ask if
they can just buy 1 copy of Windows7 and then put it on 2,3,4,5 or 6
computers using the same key. They weren't even talking about the family
pack! The, when told no, they would get all angry that it costs too much
to upgrade their 6 machines to Windows 7 and MS is being greedy, whatever!

Then of course the people that like to put their whole post in the
subject line! Those are fun to try to read!

Now there's a contradiction. Web-based forums have got to be about
the most inefficient, cumbersome way there is to communicate, other than
smoke signals.

But... they have smiley faces and stars! Besides, don't you know that
Internet = www? At least, that's how it seems to be these days. Its
depressing.

I saw that phenomenon is just one of the several Win7 forums, but all I
had to do was mark everything in that forum as "Read," and close out the
NNTP Bridge and Thunderbird. It behaved normally the next day, and has
continued to do so ever since. But your warning is still valid; it is
beta software.

I've also noticed that some of my posts have had "chunks" missing out
of the middle of them, but haven't been able to get a solid handle on
anything they might have had in common.

And don't forget the many dozens of people who continue to try to
install Win7 on computers that cannot support it, or who blindly leap to
the newest & shiniest OS without bothering to see if the manufacturer's
of their peripherals are going to produce Win7 device drivers, or if
their applications will be compatible. When the inevitable failures
occur, as usual, it's all Microsoft's fault. (This has been the common
theme since Win9x: for every new OS that Microsoft releases, we go
through the exact same flood of willfully ignorant users who point
fingers everywhere but at themselves.)

Then of course the people that like to put their whole post in the
subject line! Those are fun to try to read!

I don't even try.
