Thanks in advance for any help with my problems.. I have AT&T DSL with a
2Wire 2701HG-B Gateway. I am trying to share files using Windows Media Player 11 between 2 laptops (both Dell Inspiron 1525) and an Xbox 360. I am running Mcafee Security Center on both laptops. When I have WMP 11 search for our laptops they cannot find each other, but they can both find the Xbox. When I use the Xbox to try to find the laptops it can't find either of them. I have media sharing turned on on both laptops. I have even gone as far as completely removing Mcafee from both pc's with no luck. Also when I map the network, the laptops and xbox all show up. The Xbox has four green bars (like cell phone service) beside it, the laptop doesn't have anything. I have tried everything I can think of. Please someone help before I just throw everything in the garbage and light it on fire. :-) |

If you use 3rd party Firewall On, Vista/XP Native Firewall should be Off, and the active Firewall has to adjusted to your Network IP numbers on what is some time called the Trusted Zone (consult your 3rd Party Firewall instructions.
