What lists? Which program? Are you talking about Explorer?

I have a list. I put them on 3x5 cards. Then I order the cards in
alphabetical order. What the hell are you talking about?

You also need to state questions in a clear, organized manner to expect an
equally organized answer.

You want to "put lists on alphabetical order", OK.
Have you thought of a possibility we have ni idea what "lists" you're
talking baout, dear?

How do you know it's a dear? It could be an antelope. Better check with
your doctor.

Please explain and we'd be happy to assist you.

Except from you providing moronic posts about you being an EE or something
stupid like that. Stay in China.

Sometimes I am also on your side of equation - asking questions, not
answering.

The equation just left. It took the bus and is sitting in the back.

Today I asked STMicroelectronics several quests.

1) Where is the bathroom?
2) How do you wipe yourself?
3) Can I change my pants?

Guess what?

YOU have no brain? Didn't think so.

I have answers - also today, complete 100% Why?
Because my questions were 100% organized, you should see them - a half
page of extra data & support material so Tech Support could proceeed to
resolving it efficiently.

BULL****.

If you ask a messed up question, expect a messed up answer or no answer at
all.

If you ask Stan, every response is messed up.

It's OK if you don't like antelopes. My doctor tells me that plain old
watermelons are fine&dandy.

I was working in Microsoft 9 Word Processor, my usual 'page' for general
work. Sorry to be such a pain. I am an old woman and my brain cells are
undoubtedly fast dying off!

Ah.
Brain cells or not, if you use Works 9 word processor you can create lists,
and tables, but there's no sort option in the word processor.

If I was to use Works to create a list and sort it, I would choose the
Spreadsheet option: if you create a list in the spreadsheet, one entry per
cell in a column, you can sort it easily by ToolsSort.

There may be a way to automate the process but that method is simpler and
therefore, probably, the best one.

If you have already got a formatted list or table in the word processor, you
can copy and paste it to a spreadsheet and then sort the list.
Then, copy and paste it back into the word processor.

If you use this method, though, be careful how you paste it back. It's easy
to mess up the formatting.
To make sure you can fix any problems with formatting, use EditPaste
SpecialUnformatted text.

An alternative which has lots more features than Works, and will allow you
to create a list and sort it in a word processor is Open Office. It's
mostly MS Office compatible, and it is free to download from
http://www.openoffice.org/

Okay you mean you want to take a word processor file with (Say)

Jones, William
Smith, Arthur
Gates, Bill

and so on and sort that inside the Word Processor itself?

I can't help directly because I don't have that software, but "Lists"
could mean a lot of things and people are wanting you to clarify

On the other hand, if she means lists as in "Lists of files in a folder"
then would clicking on the column header be what she is looking for,
easily altered by accidentally clicking on date or something...
