My computer is running Vista Ultimate and is setup so that a password is
required when it is powered on. Can I change that so I do not have to enter a password each time Note: The computer is mine and I have the password. Would just to remove it as I live alone and have no real need to password protect it at this point? Thanks |

If this is just before the PC "boots," access the BIOS and turn off the password If this is just before the Windows starts up, access the Control Panel -- Users and remove the password. Usually the user account will request the password is this password is not "blank." (Note "Spacebar" will not remove the password!!!) |

I have been told I can modify User Properties and remove my password but
have no idea how I would accomplish this. Might I use http://www.tweak-uac.com/ Is there some simpler way to modify User Properties? "Artreid" wrote in message ... Start\Run and type in the following control userpasswords2 hot OK. When the window opens remove the checkmark from Users must enter etc etc etc hit Apply and back out. Peter,
This looks like it might work for me. I'll have to wait until I get to the computer to try it. "Peter Foldes" wrote in message ... In order to continue booting up I Need to enter the password. I want to
remove this as I am the only one using the computer and honestly, It's a pain. The only reason I gave it a password is because no where during installation does it tell you, You don't have too... I think Peters suggestion will work (have not tried it yet as I am in Boston and computer is in NY). However, I would like to remove the password I setup all together, as if it never existed. (Preferably without having to re-install Vista)... "smlunatick" wrote in message ...
