Searching these newsgroups
When I tried to search these newsgroups for my name, it never matches
anything. It used to work fine before, but all of a sudden it stopped working. I've tried every combination I could think of. Any ideas? |

Ken
You are not alone. The MS servers on these Web based newsgroups are having issues at present and also for the last couple of days. Wait it out and that is all I can suggest aside from setting up your newsreader to access the newsgroups which is far superior to that awful Web interface -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. Searching these newsgroups
Hi, Peter.
Sadly, that might not work, either. :( When I search for "Foldes", I get NO hits at all. :( "No items match your search." That is in Windows 7 Ultimate x64. And, yes, I've indexed my entire volume that holds the Message Store, and I've set Indexing Options | Advanced | Folder Types for .nws to "Index Properties and File Contents", which sets "Filter Description" to "MIME Filter". And Indexing Options reports "3,827,759 items indexed; Indexing complete". I always use Windows Live Mail for both mail and news, never the web-based interface. If you know how to get the Win7 Indexing service to actually search News messages. please tell me. RC -- R. C.
