Default Employing "troubleshooter" generates error

Using Windows 7 to install an old printer (Cannon i960) and an old scanner
(CanoScan 5000) gives me message that I need to troubleshoot. When I click
on that link I get an error message. The error is 0x80091007. Any
suggestions?

Because they're most likely to have the answer.
I went onto the canonusa site and in their search window I entered "windows
7 driver for i960" to search entire site.
The 1st hit took me to a page that Drivers and Downloads as a prominent
choice and that, in turn, had Windows 7 and Windows 7 (x64) as O/S choices.
I didn't bother with the scanner.
It seems Canon has the answer.
Try it.
Geo.
