networkshare foreign folder shows as "my documents" ????
Hello,
i have kind of a weird behaviour here, seems connected to windows 7, maybe vista too: we have a EMC Celerra fileserver for our Homes (shouldnt make a difference) : all userhomes are on one share, users may only write to their homes, and are not allowed to view the contents of the share, only their own subfolder. now a user put his "my documents" directly into his home. I, and a colleaque, as domain admins, looking at the root of the share see all the username's folders, and that users folder is named "my documents" ???? To clarify: those arent "my documents" !!! looking at the ufs filesystem of the linux based celerra, i can see no file like desktop.ini or else at the to of the share where the user-folders are. HOW the hell would my windows 7 and colleaques windows XP come to show me that particular users folder as "my documents" any insight would be great. i am just thinking of more users putting their "my documents" there and we, as admins , see only my documents my documents my documents my documents |
