Default Problem with Protected mode on

Hi,
I have an ActiveX application that intercepts keyboard inputs from the
user and responds to certain key combinations.

Application is delivered as a signed cab file, that is invoked by a
java script from an html page. This works fine when protected mode is
turned off in Vista/IE7.
But when protected mode is on, i am not able to get the key stokes.
Also certain Windows messages do not seem to be coming. Some dialog
boxes do not show up.

Can some one help me figure out what is going on and what do i need to
do to fix it?

Thanks a lot
Vani

Microsoft has released Security Advisory 980088, which describes another 0day
vulnerability in Internet Explorer.
