I am accumulating a lot of emails that I cannot delete or move from my
inbox. When I try to delete or move them, I get a message, 'An unknown error has occurred. Is there a cure? |

Make sure you have installed Vista's SP1 and SP2 updates.
If the problem continues, try running the various repair functions in the WMUtil program: http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil If still no improvement, upgrade to Windows Live Mail: http://download.live.com/wlmail -- Gary VanderMolen, Microsoft MVP (Mail) Microsoft MVP Program: http://mvp.support.microsoft.com "V" wrote in message ... Hello V, In addition, the options in PROBLEM ONE of the tutorial below should be able to help you fix this error. This is for the "Unknown error has occurred, Windows Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again." type of error, but a copy of the exact error message posted back would help us help you better with it. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/62...-problems.html Hope this helps, Shawn V;1238223 Wrote: I am accumulating a lot of emails that I cannot delete or move from my inbox. I started looking thru the sites below, and my eyes started to roll back
into my head.... So, for the fun of it, I rt. clicked on one the mails i could not delete and tried to see the properties; on one mail, the server couldnt find message, on another a message to the effect of 'cant disply properties...'. So I marked one of the mails 'Read' (most were un-read junks), and THEN it deleted. And all the others deleted too, as normal, read or un-read. go figure.... For what its worth... I have found one way.
Go to the Windows Mail Folder under C:\Users\"user"\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders Under this you will find your Outbox, Inbox, Etc. By clicking on each folder you will see what is in each folder but not in the same form as you look at them in Windows Mail. By deleting these files, you can go back to Windows Mail and delete everything in every folder there. "V" wrote: I am accumulating a lot of emails that I cannot delete or move from my inbox. Not recommended, except as a last resort, because doing that will
corrupt the message database. First try the repair methods in WMUtil: http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil -- Gary VanderMolen, Microsoft MVP (Mail) Microsoft MVP program: http://mvp.support.microsoft.com "unknown" wrote in message ...
