KB978380 Error Code 8007006E
I repeatedly encounter this error when trying to apply the update to my
Vista Home Premium 64-bit system. I have Office 2003, not 2007. Any suggestions on how to either get rid of this update or successfully install it would be greatly appreciated. Tom -- remove .invalid to reply by email |

I don't have any pending updates to check the exact syntax above, so you may have to use your imagination to interpret my advice... -- Gene E. Bloch letters0x40blochg0x2Ecom |

Checking my update history I noticed there were a number of other similar updates that had failed in the past - all related to Office 2007 security. I find this curious since I don't have Office 2007 installed here. Tom -- remove .invalid to reply by email |

I have suspected (but have no proof) that there are some Office 2007 components installed to help 2003 with later files. -- Gene E. Bloch letters0x40blochg0x2Ecom |
