have 3 computer all on DSL, but only the Vista machine keeps giving a
message about not having 'internet access' every once in a while during my work, then asks for the program to be shut down. This also happens on my other vista computer at home. it's getting a little annoying to close the IE in the middle since somehow the computer/program keeps losing the internet connection. thanks for any assistance. |

You should goto the Command Prompt and do an IPconfig /all to see what IP the machine has when connectivity to the Internet is lost. You should be able to do this to see what the IP is when there is a good connection as opposed to the IP it has when the connection is lost. You should be able to do an Ipconig /release and IPconfig /renew to establish connection back to the Internet, without having to shut down a program. But you should call your DSL ISP tech support about the problem and tell them you have Vista to see if there is a fix or workaround. |
