What is the 3945 driver version? Have you tried to update the driver?

Can y'all be a little more specific on your connectivity issues please? Any
error messages, type of access point, etc.....

I've got the same card in an Dell Latitude D620 running driver version
10.6.0.46 downloaded directly from Intel's website. The vesion available
from Dell is a couple of minor revisions behind but I'm fighting some other
goofy WiFi issues and bumped up a notch.
