Default Vista SP2 RC uninstall post compclean

Hi,
Is there a way to uninstall Vista SP2 RC after I have run compclean and
removed the "unwanted" uninstall files.

It looks like I cannot upgrade RC (why do they call it release candidate) to
the released SP2 version. I need to uninstall it.

I hope I do not have to reinstall. My Vista 64bit Ultimate install is a pain
- computer came with Vista Business 32 bit, did a 64 bit install and then
upgrade to Ultimate to get it to where it is currently.

TIA

Because it's not the final, Release To Manufacturers (RTM) edition. It
is, in effect, a beta version, intended for testing only. There is no
way to install a service pack to it.

to

Format the hard drive and start clean, with final products, rather than
betas and/or release candidates.

You do.

My Vista 64bit Ultimate install is a pain
- computer came with Vista Business 32 bit, did a 64 bit install ...

Given that the transition from a 32-bit OS to a 64-bit OS requires a
clean installation, why did you choose to install a Release Candidate,
rather than the real thing?

....and then
upgrade to Ultimate to get it to where it is currently.

Yers, it's a nuisance, certainly, but after all, that is the route
*you* chose to take.
