You know that Vista isn't ready for prime time when you can run 5384
on a machine and then install 5536 on that same machine as either upgrade or full install and fine that 5536 won't install properly. Vista loads and reboots and dies just after the first progress bar starts. Loops backs and tries again. Safe mode won't work since Windows wasn't loaded properly. |

Linux isn't as easy and user friendly as everyone says it is.

Taking a swim with cement shoes on is an experience too, but I wouldn't
recommend it. Linux is too comlicated. The licensing for developers using the provided libraries that often come with distros precludes any hope of profit. The user interfaces are crummy. Most of the security is by "obscurity" rather than from steel hardening by the heat of real attacks on a wide scale. I could go on about Linux all day, but the steaming pile of cr*p that is Linux is not worth it. |

By all means try Linux, but its not user friendly at all. Be prepared to sign up very quickly to the linux help newsgroups as you tear your hair out in despair ;-) |

If you are set up so that you could install Linux and give it a try without loosing any of your important data, then give it a try. You can, if you do not like it, reformat your hard drive and install Windows.
