I have a windoes 98 machine and a vista basic machine, both having static
asddresses within the same subnet. I can ping each other, but can not UNC to a share, nor can I see the vista box within network neighboorhood. I try a UNC to a share on the windows 98 box, and get "Host cannot be found. Computers are running in a workgroup. . I have netbios enabled. There is no DHCP, dns, or WINS servers. Just three machines (3 Windows 98, Vista basic). Cannot get them to talk to each other, other than a ping. Anybody experienced this? |
