I have Vista Home Premium and recently discovered that Live Movie Maker can import .mov file extension video clips for editing and/or conversion to .wmv file extension. A converted 720p file is slightly larger than the original - so there is very little loss in quality (converted files can be imported to Movie Maker 6, if preferred, or played on WMP11). It is necessary to install QuickTime Player. Additionally I downloaded the K-Lite codec pack and installed "generic MPEG4" ONLY. I hope others will find this useful (particularly those who prefer WMM6 to WLMM). |
