I'm having lots of problems networking my XP and Vista machine
together via my wireless router. The issue on the vista machine is the most bizar I can access the files on the XP machine from my Vista machine if I type in the IP address into the search box, and, since installing the LLTD responder on the XP machine, I can even see it in the full network map. But I can't access it by computer name, and it doesn't show up at all in the Network - even if I have an explorer window open looking at the very files having opened that window by IP address: even though the computer and its shared resources appear in the folder bar, if I click on Network in the folder bar, the XP computer doesn't show up in the right hand pane. I also cannot access the Vista shared resources from the XP machine at all, even though they're on the same workgroup, and have mutual user accounts. Access privileges to shared resources are set to "Authenticated Users" on both boxes I should say that at some points in time, it has all worked intermittently, but it never worked consistently, and that's not been for a long time now. Thanks |
