I have a business application which involves scanning and electronic storage
of multipage documents as jpg images of the pages. File names of each page are of the form NAME-001.jpg, NAME-002.jpg, etc. Occasionally one of the documents needs to be printed out and the preferred way is printing double-sided (on a Xerox 6280 color laser printer if it makes any difference). In XP, one merely sorted the jpgs alphabetically in Windows Explorer, selected all the desired pages and printing them would call up the Photo Printing Wizard with the jpgs in the order they were listed in Windows Explorer. They could then be easily printed out double sided icorrectly. In Vista (x64, Home Premium SP2), selecting the jpg's in the same way and trying to print them brings up a window called "Print Pictures" which has basically the same options as the XP Wizard, but the pictures are ordered in what seems to be a wholly arbitrary sequence. I can seem to make the sequence change by different ways of selecting the photos, but I can't get them into any usable order. How can I get them to be in alphabetical order just like XP so I can use double sided printing? |
