Can't read DVDs
Hi there,
I can't persuade Vista to read DVDs. I've got a Pionneer DVD-RW drive, and an IDE DVD Rom. When I put a disk in either drive, and try to open it from Computer or to explore it, explorer hangs, with a green line going through the breadcrumb bar, and then it simply stops responding. I have to shut down the computer by holding on to the power switch for 5 seconds in order to restart. Anyone else found this problem? I can't see any other posts about it. I've got a buisiness upgrade that was part of a bulk licensing deal via my work. Thanks for your help Waistcoat |

Can't read DVDs
Answer found. Pinnacle studio had a driver installed that messed everything
up. Uninstalling that made the drives work again. For those, like me, who'd never done this before, the way I found out was by going to control panel, system, finding the drive, looking at which companies had written the drivers, then uninstalling the programs that owned the drivers that were not microsoft.
