I have a little problem. Vista works great for me except....everytime I start
the computer up the system cannot connect to my local network. It is an ethernet connection from the motherboard to a linksys ezxs88w to a befsx41 to the dsl modem. Basically the broadband gateway (befsx41) manages the dsl modem. The switch connects to all ethernet connections from an xbox to a printer to nas and whatever else. Every time I start the computer I have to use the diagnose and repair. It auto renews the ip and amazingly it works again. It is just annoying. Anyway for me to set auto renew? I have auto detect settings set and the network totally setup. |

It will be great if you can send us the NETMON captures to diagnosis easily.

I too am suffering from exactly the same issue, So far Vista has been
impressive and most of my applications and games are running okay, Just the internet connection is causing me problems. I too get limited or no connectivity, The network shows as unidentified. I have to sometimes run the repair/diagnose and renew IP 3 or 4 times before it will detect and work. I have looked at the link suggested and it hasn't really helped me at all. I dual boot my system XP Home SP2 and vista home premium, XP home connection works everytime. Can i Import the connection settings from XP home to vista, if so how? I sorted it I missed the glaringly obvious tick box to disable tcpip v6. I
have done that and it seems to work, still takes a while on boot to recognise the network though. M "MGbassace" wrote: I must be missing something here as I cant seem to work out how to do that! M "rzande1" wrote: I figured it out. All I have to do is disable tcpip v6. |
