Default Vista & RAM memory

Hi,

I bought 4 Gb RAM DDR 2 King max memory.

Vista (Bussines edition) does not recognize it and show me 3,25 GB.

I am sure that comp is ok because during start BIOS showing 4.194.304
bytes.

Can you help me and tell me how to fix this problem.

Thanks to all.

Mike

Check out " 4gb RAM not showing up" by Rock over in the Vista.General
group...thereis nothing wring with your PC. Just the way 32-bit Vista is
reporting it.

Is it not that 3.25 GB is 4Gb? its maybe something to do with 1KB = 8Kb and
such? maybe I am completely wrong though!

No, it's not like hard drive space where the OS uses 1024^3 = 1 GB and
manufacturers use 1000^3 = 1 GB

Default Vista & RAM memory

this worked on my DFI NfD-4

I am not an expert ( but I read many posts & then tried this )
& the issues was fixed 1st try... !! : ' )
enter Bios
Advance chipset features
memory hole for PCI MMIO
enable feature!
this feature is to remap to address above 4G of ram
save settings & exist
its all there now! from 3070 to 4094!

it looks like to me that bios on many motherboards is set to
a default under 4 gig setting (from the old days) last year....
